Hi!
My name is Rosy. I was born and raised in San Diego, CA., with a close upbringing in Tijuana, B.C., Mexico, in the most loving home of my dear Abuelita. I have lived in Yuma during two military tours as a Marine spouse. Now having reached retirement, we have chosen to grow deep roots in the sand. We are happy Yuman transplants! I’m excited and truly enjoy serving the vibrant Yuma community.
If I wasn’t a business owner, I would call myself a professional volunteer. The greatest joy of being a military spouse has been living in different states and having the opportunity to serve the local communities. In particular I am passionate about serving organizations that support- veterans, military families, crisis pregnancy centers, single-moms, mental health, and food insecurity programs.
I am a first-generation Mexican-American and first generation college graduate. In 2001, I enlisted in the Army as a Medic/Mental Health Technician. This experience affirmed my fascination for the medical field. I earned my Bachelor’s in Nursing from CSUSM in 2011. My nursing experience spans hospital and clinic settings, including progressive/intermediate care, trauma, infusion therapy, and remote nurse consulting in women’s hormone health. Most recently, I’ve worked in integrative practices with a multidisciplinary team. I learned through this comprehensive approach that fostering a patient-provider partnership allowed patients to reach attainable health goals and lasting outcomes as it gave patients the resources, education, ample time and space to be their own health advocates. As a nurse, I strive to educate and empower clients to become informed decision-makers.
My very own long journey with chronic health challenges led me to integrative medicine by blending Eastern and Western medicine, using complementary therapies/modalities and wholefood nutrition. I cannot stress enough the importance of Gut Health and how it plays a major role in not only your body, but also, your mind. Your gut houses powerful hormones, bacteria, functions, and the power of intuition. The old adage- “follow your gut” rings true till this day. Don’t minimize the power of your gut intuition. Create a healthy gut, by feeding it, nurturing it and supporting it. Hydrocolon therapy is a very beneficial way to do that!
I believe that true health encompasses the mind-body-spirit connection. My faith is central to my life. I am incredibly thankful to God for His abundant blessings over my life. We all have a story but it’s believing what our story does for us, rather than what it can potentially do to us- that makes all the difference. As a “wounded helper,” I encourage others to embrace growth and healing. Turning pain into purpose is a mindset I choose to continue to lean into. As a huge proponent of personal growth and mental health work, I cannot emphasize enough the power of the mind in one’s healing experience.
As an ever-curious and passionate life-long learner, I believe that enhancing my skill sets allows me to better serve my community’s needs. In 2023, I launched on an exciting and unconventional journey- blending Eastern Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) within my nursing scope of practice. I became trained in AcuDetox by the National Acupuncture Detoxification Association (NADA) and board certified by the AZ Acupuncture Board of Examiners as an Auricular Acupuncture Therapist.
Since then, I have continued to travel to learn more and broaden my skill sets in auricular acupuncture. Having trained at Yo San University of Traditional Chinese Medicine and The Academy of Chinese Culture and Health Sciences in the Battlefield and Advanced Battlefield protocols, has allowed me to learn a range of protocols to bring back to Yuma.
The reason why I do what I do- is for you. So, I personally want to “Thank You” for inviting me along your health journey. I look forward to serving you!
Warmly & With Gratitude

Nurse Rosy- Yuma’s Unconventional RN
At Desert Detox, I build strong client relationships by guiding them on their personal journeys and providing education every step of the way. By creating a safe space, honoring their individuality, and listening closely, I empower individuals to make informed choices and take control of their health. Through open conversations and educational support, my approach helps clients trust in the power of their own bodies and minds while gaining a deeper understanding of their unique needs. Awareness is key, accountability requires commitment, and partnership calls for action. Are you ready to partner with me in achieving your health goals? My goal is for clients to feel enlightened and motivated, especially as they begin to realize the profound impact of the gut-brain connection and release what no longer serves them.
